A Wagner Group mercenary believed to have played a crucial role in the mass shooting of Ukrainians was killed by a sniper, causing a great loss for Vladimir Putin
According to Russian sources, one of Putin’s most notorious mercenaries, who also fought in Syria, was killed by a Ukrainian sniper.
Vladimir Andonov, 44, from the Buryatia region of Russia’s Far East, was part of the notorious Wagner group of Russian mercenaries and is believed to have been shot dead in the Kharkiv region of eastern Ukraine.
Andonov has earned the nickname “The Executioner” for the brutal warmongering tactics he employed during the fighting in Ukraine and on previous missions in Syria and Libya.
Wagner Group agents are all battle-hardened ex-paratroopers or special forces and have some of the worst war crimes commission records in the world.
His death was first reported by the Russian publication Moskovsky Komsomolets, which wrote: “The death of Vladimir Andonov, better known as Vaha, in Ukraine has become well known.
“He died last night exploring the area with his friend.”
It was said he probably died from a sniper shot.
Moskovsky Komsomolets said the brute fought for Russia back in 2014 in Donbass, eastern Ukraine, served in the special forces and received a medal “For Merit in Combat.”
Andonov is said to have played a key role in the mass shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war, as well as the massacre of civilians in Donbass.

His name is also included in the Ukraine-run Peacemaker database, the Ukrainian blacklist website with close ties to law enforcement and hackers, listing all crimes committed by the Russian military.
Andonov’s death was also to be confirmed by Russian military sources based in Buryatia via messaging app Telegram.
One user wrote: “He died at night while exploring the area, along with his companion, probably killed by a sniper.”
The news marks another major military loss for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also lost two generals in a single strike overnight.

Lieutenant General Roman Berdnikov, 47, and Major General Roman Kutuzov were reportedly killed in the same ambush on a bridge in eastern Ukraine on Sunday.
Andonov was born in Kusoci, Mogoituiski District in 1978 and joined the Russian Army in 1997.
“I was in Donbass as a volunteer in September 2014. The events of May 2nd in Odessa, where people were burned alive, pushed me. For ideological reasons, my grandfather fought in Ukraine, in Vinita, he led Bandera until 1946,” he said in an interview with Nomer Odin in 2017.
Another military channel on Telegram said he died with Bair Mitupov, another fighter from Buryatia.
This comes as Putin signed a decree on Monday ordering the payment of 5 million rubles (£64,587) to the families of Russian National Guard members who died in Ukraine and Syria.
