A senior Kremlin minister claims Russia is committed to stopping a nuclear war amid growing fears Vladimir Putin could start one.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made the claims in an interview with an Italian TV show on Sunday.
He said through an interpreter: “Western media misrepresent Russian threats.
“Russia has never stopped trying to reach agreements that would guarantee there would never be a nuclear war.”
Lavrov’s comments stand in stark contrast to previous threats when he warned of the “grave danger” of nuclear war.
The tyrant Vladimir Putin also made veiled references to Moscow’s nuclear capabilities when he warned Western leaders – who have backed struggling Ukraine with arms and money – not to interfere in his war.
Meanwhile, “experts” from Russian state television have already started simulating how a nuclear strike on a number of European cities, including London, would unfold.
Presenters said there would be “no survivors” during a TV rant in response to Britain’s support for Ukraine.
Putin propagandists televised nuclear strikes on three European capitals, claiming the nuclear weapons would hit Paris, Berlin and London in about 200 seconds.
As tensions continue to rise amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, there are growing concerns that the rest of the world could be drawn into the fighting.
In response to comments from the UK Armed Forces Secretary in support of Ukraine’s attacks on Russia, hosted on Channel One 60 minutes The program claimed the nuclear weapons could hit European capitals less than four minutes after launch.

The chilling claims about Russia’s nuclear weapons were made on the popular TV show, which is one of the country’s most watched.
His comments come after Britain’s defense secretary warned Putin he could declare a new world war within days.
Ben Wallace said the Russian leader could launch a “mass” mobilization and use May Day to announce a war against the “Nazis” of the world.
Putin began the Russian invasion of his neighbor on February 24, saying it was a special operation to rid Ukraine of Nazis.
Since then, Ukrainian cities have been hit by shells in a battle that Government Minister Liz Truss said could last 10 years.
Now Mr. Wallace has said it LBC that Putin, having “failed” in most of his goals in the war with Ukraine, could declare war on the “Nazis of the world.”
He said: “I wouldn’t be surprised. . . that he will probably declare on May Day that ‘we are now at war with the Nazis of the world and must mobilize the Russian people en masse’.”
