Vogue Williams says new E4 show Send Nudes: Body SOS is ’empowering’ those considering plastic surgery

The new host of the E4 series Send Nudes: Body SOS says the program is meant to “energize” and help people who are struggling with body confidence.

Vogue Williams says the reality show is designed to help people considering plastic surgery feel happier about their bodies in a “real and authentic way”.

In the program, the participants’ bodies are scanned by hundreds of cameras to create a computer-generated 3D avatar, which is cosmetically altered with the help of expert surgeons. the way they want.

The resulting nude photos are then sent to 50 strangers to be analyzed and critiqued.

Speaking ahead of the show’s premiere, Williams said: “This isn’t a series about plastic surgery, it’s about helping people who are considering surgery because they’re truly self-conscious about a body part. to the extent that affects their way of life.

“When I met them, they were baffled about surgery, but that’s something they’ve been thinking about for a long time.

She continued: “It’s a really empowering and very positive show for the body and I think we need some of that on TV.

“We all have issues with our bodies and this is for anyone across the UK who have gotten to the point where they are actually considering surgery.

“Being able to rip off the band’s aids and show us what’s bothering them and then send their nudity to 50 complete strangers is very brave but also very powerful.

“Everybody’s body is different, and everyone’s body is beautiful and amazing.

“No one is perfect and you certainly realize that ‘normal’ is not a word we should use to describe our bodies – we are all very different and that should be celebrated. “

Williams, 36, says social media platforms are the reason some people, especially young people, want to change their appearance through plastic surgery, but the “surveillance” of the interior. The online content they use is up to the individual.

When asked how the new show would fit into the current body image debate, she said, “I think the show for us is more about being more body-positive. We don’t want it to be a negative show.

“We don’t want to go and tell people ‘you need plastic surgery if you want to look better or feel good about yourself’.

“We were like, ‘Listen, you look good the way you are but if you really want other people’s opinions and you really want to see how you look with surgery (maybe really change lives)’ we’ll show you all the risks and costs’. “

Send Nudes: Body SOS airs on E4 on Wednesday, August 31 at 10.15pm.
