The clocks have been put forward, the weather is getting sunnier and the temperatures are rising – of course we are looking forward to days outside in the sun.
Luckily, HomeToGo provided plenty of inspiration when presenting the UK’s 20 best beaches for 2022, taking into account factors such as water purity, value for money and visitor ratings.
Llandang Beach in Gwynedd, Wales took first place in the new rankings, proving to be the most popular beach with visitors. In fact, people have left Tripadvisor reviews praising it for having “everything,” being dog-friendly and offering some gorgeous views.
One beachgoer wrote: “This beach has it all! Rock pools to explore, shallow water and child-safe pools, a cafe and restrooms. Easily accessible from the parking lot. Also has a chapel that was once buried in the sand.”

Another added that it was a “very clean beach” with a mix of sand and pebbles and that its facilities like a car park, toilets and cafe made it “ideal for a family outing”. They added: “The beach is dog friendly, if you keep walking turn right if you have a dog, if not great idea.”
Overall, Llandanwg Beach scored a visitor rating of 4.1 out of 5 in the rankings, not to mention its excellent water quality.
At an average cost of £126.75 for a one-night stay, it wasn’t the cheapest of beaches to visit, but it wasn’t one of the most expensive either – but for those looking for something away from the summer crowds it can be a great compromise.
Not only Llandanwg was impressed.

Whitesands Beach in Pembrokeshire is another sandy beach worth keeping on your Staycation radar as it has a Blue Flag rating, meaning it’s ideal for swimmers and surfers. Then there are the stunning cliff walks in the area, the friendly locals and a variety of cafes and bars for a post hike drink or snack.
Third place on the podium went to Sandbanks Beach in Dorset, just off Poole Harbour. This is one of those beaches that has long been a firm favorite with vacationers thanks to its convenient facilities, swimmer-friendly waters and nearby hotels, so it’s no surprise that it’s featured in HomeToGo’s rankings.
