Wagatha Christie West End arrives at the Theater Royal, Brighton

Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial goes on tour with the Theater Royal on the list of destinations after a successful run in the West End.

The “literal production” uses High Court transcripts from the legal battle that gripped the nation last year.

Lucy May Baker, previously featured in Mamma Mia! Musical, Vardy will play while Laura Dos Santos takes on the role of Rooney.

Misfits star Nathan McMullen continues to play multiple roles, including former England footballers Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy.

The production follows a viral tweet in which Coleen Rooney accused Rebekah Vardy of leaking “false stories” to the press about her personal life.

Vardy, 40, took Rooney, 36, to the High Court for defamation, but a judge found the post was “essentially true”.

Last year Channel 4 aired a two-part film called Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama, which starred Michael Sheen, Chanel Creswell and Natalia Tena.

Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial comes to Brighton’s Theater Royal from 15th to 17th June, tickets go on sale from Friday 17th February.
