Wakanda forever cast to deal with Chadwick Boseman’s absence on set

When “Black Panther” introduces us to Afrofuturist society in Wakanda, it’s a sight to behold – a unique sci-fi aesthetic that blends technological advancement with cultural traditions. For the returning cast of “Wakanda Forever,” however, returning to these films is an emotional challenge as it’s hard not to feel the weight of Boseman’s absence. Danai Gurira, who is reprising the role of Okoye, confessed to EW that the tribal council room “was hard to go back to because the last time we saw that throne was with Chadwick.”

During those difficult moments, it’s nice to know the cast and crew backed each other. Winston Duke, returning as M’Baku, added, “When one person is going through a tough day, others will cheer around them. We’ll take turns doing it.”

For Letitia Wright, inheriting the leading role of this wonderful synthesis as T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, was a huge responsibility. When she felt she needed some guidance, Wright felt comfortable consulting him mentally. “I always carry him in every scene,” she explains. “I always ask, ‘Dude, what do you think?’ and just trying to keep a spiritual connection. He means something to me, and he’s the reason why I’m here. He chose me to be his sister, so I couldn’t make my life. this journey without him.”
