Wanted has canceled an event next month because it was ‘running out of time to reflect’ following the death of their late bandmate Tom Parker.

Parker died in March at the age of 33 from an incurable brain tumor, leaving behind wife Kelsey and children Aurelia and Bodhi.

The boy band was scheduled to perform at the Live After Racing event at Newcastle Racecourse on July 23, but confirmed in a statement that they would no longer be performing.

They wrote on Twitter: “After some thought, and with a heavy heart, we can confirm that we will no longer be performing at the Live After Racing event scheduled to take place at Newcastle Racecourse on Sunday. July 23.

“Just over 2 months since we lost Tom and we love performing live, it’s too early for us to even think about returning to the stage as The Wanted.

“We are all still processing the events of the past few months and need to take this time to reflect. We are very sorry to let anyone down and thank you for your understanding and support. We will see you all soon x”

It comes after Max George said he was still “unintentionally” texting Tom as he was “processing” his loss to cancer.

Max paid tribute to Tom this morning on Tuesday as he discussed the retelling memoir the singer has written over the past 12 months and is slated for release in July, bringing a insight into his life.

Tom revealed that he was in the process of writing an all-encompassing memoir about his battle with brain cancer a week before his death.

He says the book, called Hope, will not be about ‘death’ but about ‘living’ and ‘finding hope’ no matter what situation you’re in.

When discussing the book and his story, George admitted that it felt odd to promote the memoir without Tom by his side on the ITV sofa.

Tom Parker died tragically of cancer

He told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond: “I still think I’m trying to process it.”

He continued, “Actually, I still text him. If I get things like fan-made pictures with him in them or they send a great message to do with Tom, I’ll still Whatsapp him.

“I think I just find comfort in that. The worst thing is when I accidentally do it. Sometimes you just text and you’re like, ‘oh no’. “
