Rumors of a Warcraft Mobile games have been on a rotation since as far back as 2017 and it looks like 2022 will finally come out. Blizzard has just confirmed that a new Warcraft mobile game will be released this year.
In its quarterly earnings report, Blizzard said that it is “planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and at the same time.” bringing brand new mobile Warcraft content to players for the first time.”

Before, Blizzard has revealed it is in fact working on multiple Warcraft mobile experiences that are in “advanced development” as of August 2021. Other official details have yet to be shared, including genre or exact element Which of the Warcraft universes this will include, although it’s possible that one of the deck games is a rumored to be a Pokemon GO style AR game.
If a Warcraft mobile game launches this year, it won’t be Blizzard’s only mobile game, as Diablo: Immortal is currently scheduled for release in the first half of 2022.

As for what the rest of the “substantial new content” might be, keep your hopes up. It’s possible that this is just referring to new expansions or major patches, though it’s also possible that the company is planning another attempt at expanding Warcraft beyond MMORPGs after the remake attempt. Warcraft 3 has dropped for many people. There is no indication of changes to the usual business that may be in store following the announcement that Microsoft will acquires Activision-Blizzard in a $68.7 billion deal completed in 2023.
