As more and more news flow from interviews about World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion, dragonflight, Blizzard itself had some news. Holly Longdale has announced that she is taking on the role of Executive Producer on World of Warcraft.
The news was shared yesterday via Twitter Longdale himself tweets that it is an “honour” to work with the Blizzard team on these games.
“I’m really looking forward to taking on the role of Executive Producer [World of Warcraft]. It’s an honor to work with this team and these games. My heart is full! Cheers to the future, which we will continue to build together – both the players and the teams!”
It will be interesting to see how this changes the course Impressive, but the reaction from current Blizzard employees has been fairly positive. This also means no change in the game director role as Ion Hazzikostas will continue to serve in that role Impressive. Mike Ybarra, the current president of Blizzard Entertainment, also congratulated Longdale via Twitter.
Very lucky to have Holly Longdale, @TheWindstalker, as the new Executive Producer of World of Warcraft. I know she will lead our team, our game and our players incredibly well. Congratulations! ??

In related news as more information leaks out World of Warcraft dragonflighta theme that was consistent with Impressive devs has lifted restrictions on how and with whom players can enjoy the MMO. While cross-faction play is coming, another major change is the lifting of racial restrictions for some of the classes in the MMORPG.
In an interview by MrGM (via MMO Champion) with lead combat designer Brian Holinka, the roughly half-hour talk talks about the talent tree changes, the upcoming Evoker class, as well as the idea that race shouldn’t be a limiting factor for the class that you can play. Therefore, Holinka states that with 10.0 the rogue, priest and mage will be available for all classes to play while other classes will take more time as more shapes and animations need to be added to flesh them out. Also, if a class holds more lore, it will take them more time to set up the change in the universe.
