Warehouse worker (21) accused of attacking man with knife

A LAGER worker allegedly attacked a colleague before following him and damaged his car, sources say.

adreddrine Benhamou (21) is accused of attacking the man, who cut his face with a knife.

His case was adjourned when he appeared before Dublin District Court.

Mr Benhamou, with an address in Roebuck Road, Dublin, is accused of assaulting a man and possessing a box cutter in an incident at Worldwide Foods, Grants View, Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole, Co Dublin.

He is also charged with criminally damaging a car on Peamount Road, Newcastle, Co Dublin.

The crimes are said to have happened on October 15, 2020.

Garda Alan Dunne told Judge David McHugh the allegation was that there was an altercation at work between two colleagues.

According to the prosecutor, the alleged victim suffered cuts on the index fingers and a small cut on the face from the knife. He also suffered bruises from multiple blows to the face.

Mr Benhamou is said to have followed the man and damaged his car.

The knife allegedly involved was something used as part of the defendant’s employment, the Garda said.

The DPP consented to the trial of the case in the district court if jurisdiction was accepted.

Judge McHugh accepted jurisdiction after hearing the allegations outlined.
