A release date has finally been set Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
The game, which is expected in 2021 before being pushed to Spring 2022, will now be released on Tuesday 13 September instead.
Announced in 2020 and developed by Fatshark, the creators of Vermintide, the four-player FPS is set in the beehive city of Tertium, where you fight together against hordes of enemies.
Within the depths of the Hive, seeds of corruption threaten “an overwhelming tide of darkness” thanks to a cult known as the Admonition who is attempting to seize control of the planet Atoma Prime with the goal of ravaging its denizens. It’s up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to destroy the enemy before the city succumbs to chaos.
Darktide builds on Vermintide 2’s melee legacy and introduces balanced gunplay into the mix, and you’ll need to balance ranged versus melee combat in combat. You can choose your class and customize your skillset and loadout to suit your own playstyle. You can also upgrade your equipment and customize your character’s appearance.
After release, you can pick up the game on PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.
