The ingenious feature reveals important details about the missing child.

This includes a photo, a description, the location of the kidnapping and any other useful information.

The warning comes through Instagram and can then be shared with friends.

It’s available tomorrow and will be rolled out in 25 countries over the next few weeks.

“We know that the chances of finding a missing child increase when more people are on the lookout, especially in the first few hours,” said Meta’s Emily Vacher, who is in charge of trust and safety at the tech giant.

“With this update, if an AMBER alert is activated by law enforcement and you are in the designated search area, the alert will now appear on your Instagram feed.

“AMBER Alerts are an important way to help our communities keep children safe and we look forward to continuing this work.”

It is hoped that the AMBER Alerts will increase the chances of finding a kidnapped child.

Instagram in the UK apartment The system was developed in cooperation with the National Crime Agency and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the USA.

“Amber Alerts are a crucial tool for quickly getting word of a missing child out, and often lead to critical information from the public that helps law enforcement locate them,” said Louise Newell of the National Crime Agency.

“Having a truly visual social platform like Instagram on board to issue such alerts is great news that brings missing child cases to a larger, more diverse audience, thereby increasing the opportunities for finding a missing child.

“If you have information about a missing child alert, however small, you should contact police immediately using the details in the alert.”

The Amber Alert System was originally developed in the USA.

It is named after Amber Rene Hagerman, a 9-year-old girl who was kidnapped and murdered in 1996.

The name is also a “backronym” and stands for America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response.

In the United States, Amber Alerts are broadcast via radio, television, and SMS.

Warnings can also be issued via email and billboards.
