Warning to millions of PS5 owners – a simple mistake could cost you

If you’ve noticed space being eaten up on your PS5, you may need to check that you haven’t downloaded the same game twice.
It’s a simple mistake that many gamers of the latest console have made.
And thanks to the way the PS Store works, it’s easy.
With PS4 still very much in motion, many titles offer both a PS4 and PS5 version for purchase.
This means you could accidentally download the wrong one and download it twice.
Of course, this means that valuable storage space is wasted unnecessarily.

In the case of the PS5, if you download the wrong one – i.e. the PS4 version – you’re also missing out.
Of course, the PS4 will not be optimized for the advanced technology of the PS5.
So you don’t get the graphics upgrades you should expect on a newer PlayStation.
Don’t forget, you can store games on an external SSD – but there’s a catch.
Only PS4 games are playable with it, PS5 games are not.
So if you need to save some space, it’s better to migrate the PS4 titles there and keep the PS5 titles stored on the console itself.

This is especially useful as PS5 games are quite large and the console doesn’t have much storage space to keep them all after a while.
While the PS5 officially has 855GB of internal storage, only about 667GB of that is available for gaming.
