Warning to over a million Android phone owners – delete these apps immediately

An app on Android that has been downloaded more than a million times uses people to make money.
While the hackers didn’t get away with their own funds, they wasted victims’ time with annoying ads.
The app in question is called TubeBox.
It aims to reward people for watching videos and ads.
But when you claim your time, it doesn’t work.
Instead, it turns out that the scammers running the app are taking the profits.
The trick was discovered by experts from Dr.Web.
Fortunately, it has now been removed from the Google Play Store.
TubeBox isn’t the only app that’s up to no good.
The cybersecurity firm also found others riddled with adware and malware.
This includes the automatic connection of Bluetooth devices, which had more than a million downloads.
Bluetooth & Wi-Fi & USB drivers were at over 100,000 devices while Volume, Music Equalizer was at 50,000.
Another called Fast Cleaner & Cooling Master attracted a much smaller number of around 500.
A Google spokesman said: computer beeps that all apps in question have now been removed from the Google Play Store.


If you have any on your devices, it is best to delete them immediately.
