When Jurassic World: Dominions last follower was released, my colleague Chaim Gartenberg argued boldly he wasn’t afraid at all by the prospect of a dinosaur-infested future. “People have things like armies and guns and walls and cities. We’ve grown pretty well in the whole “keep animals away from us” strategy,” he wrote. “Sure, Jurassic Park claims a raptor could open a door – but can it eat through concrete? Can it successfully use the strange swipe card I need to get into our office building?”
domination latest trailer has no answer to these questions. But it does answer our burning follow-up on whether a raptor is smart enough to avoid being fed the laundry after a quick thought by Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing.
The answer? no
The new trailer offers some interesting new plot details for the latest entry in the Jurassic franchise. We already knew domination will be set three years after 2018 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, with the resurrected dinosaurs of the franchise escaping to coexist with humanity around the world. But now it seems like the plot might actually turn portion such a dinosaur by reuniting him with his mother after she was kidnapped by… poachers? It is unclear.
Most of all, I’m just glad that this setup is used as an excuse for some really wild set pieces, like Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady being chased through the streets of Rome by hordes of raptors, or being chased beneath the surface of a frozen lake. Along with Pratt and Howard, who starred in the more recent ones Jurassic world movies, Jurassic Parks Original stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum will also be reprising their roles domination debuts June 10.
