Gareth Bale scored a sensational free-kick to put Wales ahead in the 25th minute of the World Cup play-off against Austria.
Ale shot past Heinz Lindner with a perfect, unstoppable shot, the ball kissing the underside of the crossbar en route to the goal. The goal increased Bale’s record in Wales to 37 goals.
Wales had the first chance after 75 seconds when Daniel James Lindner forced a clear save.
But they had a great escape in the fifth minute when Sabitzer pushed Christoph Baumgartner through the goal. Baumgartner’s attempt rooted Hennessey in place but the ball bounced off the Welsh bar.
