Watch out for Google alerts on Android phones – it means someone might be tracking you

EVERYONE with an Android phone should install an important app — or risk falling victim to a nefarious stalking tactic.
The app is completely free to download and basically requires no effort to use.
Everything is connected with Apple AirTags: small electronic tags that can be attached to keys, backpacks, suitcases and more.
You can use Apple’s Find My app to find these items if you ever lose them.
They access the Find My device network, which shows when an AirTag is near any of the millions of gadgets in the ecosystem.
And if you’re near an AirTag, you can use it iPhones Technology to accurately find the tag in the tightest of spaces.

But Apple has already faced a crisis with people using its AirTag trackers to stalk. Luckily, your iPhone will notify you when you’re being tracked.
But it is also possible to uncover AirTags with an Android phone.
How to find AirTag with an Android phone
Apple has developed an app for Android that will help you uncover fraudulent AirTag trackers.
It’s called Tracker Detect and it shows if you’re being followed by a nearby AirTag.
The default alert system on iPhone does not work on Android.
That’s why Android users need to install Tracker Detect to find hidden AirTags.
It’s not a foolproof system, and sophisticated stalkers could still find ways to monitor you.
But ultimately, it’s possible that someone tracking you might prefer to use a third-party GPS tracker, which has significantly fewer checks and balances than Apple’s gadget.
This is where Google’s tracker spotting feature would come into play.

You can also get advice from the National Stalking Helpline on 0808 802 0300, which is open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4pm (except Wednesday 1pm to 4pm). In the United Kingdom.
In the US, you can contact Victim Connect at 1-855-484-2846 for advice.
