The former Manchester United superstar has opened up on where he thinks the Premier League title will end up between Liverpool and Manchester City at the end of May

Manchester United record goalscorer Wayne Rooney has shed some light on who he thinks will come out on top this season First League Title race between two of his former rivals in Liverpool and Manchester City.
the previous England international was honest enough to admit that he would “prefer neither of them” to lift the trophy at the end of the season, but was resigned to the fact that it will be either of them. City are on pole given their narrow lead at the front pep Guardiola is attempting to secure an amazing fourth league title in five seasons.

A former everton Rooney, star, is now at the helm of recently relegated Derby County and claimed Liverpool could potentially bring the momentum into the final furlong of the season due to their recent defeat FA Cup Semi-final win over City. “I wouldn’t favor any of them, but one of them obviously is. I think Liverpool could crack it,” Rooney replied when asked to comment on the title race Beanyman sports.
“I think they’ve looked really strong over the past few months and I think winning the FA Cup semi-final could have an impact on that. So I have a feeling that Liverpool could lose out. I hope not – I’d rather City win.”

Liverpool have had a particularly fantastic week as they beat two of their rivals in the space of four days. Saturday’s win over City at Wembley was followed by a 4-0 win over Rooney’s beloved United at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Whilst the quality of City and Liverpool simply cannot be questioned, the intensity of the rivalry and animosity is – some claim there is not enough bad blood between the two to call their encounters the finest rivalry that England has seen soccer has ever seen.
Rooney has delivered his verdict, claiming City’s struggles with Liverpool have now transcended the bad blood between the two Manchester clubs. He said: “You see the rivalry between City and Liverpool now just because they’re the top two teams. So at the moment it’s probably a bigger rivalry than United-City for example, but if you’re successful then that rivalry will come.”
