Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne co-directed “Am I OK?,” which was written by Lauren Pomerantz and produced by Picturestart, Gloria Sanchez Productions and Johnson’s TeaTime Pictures.
It will premiere on HBO Max at an unspecified date.
“I agree?” follows Lucy (Johnson), 32 years old, who lives in Los Angeles and finds out later in life that the reason she dates the opposite sex that never ends with a handshake is because she’s not attracted to her. sucked by men. In Types movie review, reviewer Amy Nicholson praised the on-screen dynamic between the two female leads. “Johnson and Mizuno have a great match,” Nicholson wrote. “Both are quick with just a little trick.”
Shirley Li of Atlantic described the film as “easily charming”, adding, “The film won me over for its multi-layered study of a woman’s close friendships and the power that such relationships can hold. can hold, even when they break.”
Johnson, who also stars in the Sundance comedy “Cha Cha Real Smooth,” said she finds herself drawn to the raw emotion beneath the film’s comedic surface.
