They met in Harry Potter society in UCD, got engaged at Disneyland, are planning a Bridgerton wedding – and in a Friends TV twist, Phoebe is getting married to Ross!
I’m obsessed with Bridgeton. I’ve seen the series, read three of the books and can’t wait to walk up the aisle to the string quartet version of the Taylor Swift song Wildest Dreams from the first season,” says Phoebe Nolan (left).
The attention to detail will be on full display when Mrs Nolan – a Dublin civil servant – marries IT specialist Ross Gahan-Suttle in Co Meath next September.
From his brocade waistcoat to the Lady Whistledown insignia on her stationery, references to the popular show abound.
“I honestly didn’t think I could find a Regency style dress with a high empire line because that’s not in fashion,” said Ms. Nolan.
“Then I found a dress at the Alice May Bridal Boutique in Foxrock, Dublin, and it had a scoop neckline, little cap sleeves, lace patterns and glass sequins.
“My sister Isabelle burst into tears when she saw me in it and said, ‘Now you can have yours Bridgeton Wedding’.”
Ms. Nolan was pursuing a Masters in Classics from UCD where she met her future husband. The couple enjoyed watching the Netflix series together.
“We will do it Bridgeton vibe, so we’re thinking about giving our guests the opportunity to choose that too,” she said. “I don’t think people were that shocked. They said, “Of course you would do that.” The way we met and got engaged, it makes sense that we do a Bridgeton Wedding.”
