We had our wedding reception at a local Beefeater after our venue was canceled at the last minute…it was stressful

A COUPLE hosted their wedding reception at a local Beefeater after their venue was canceled at the last minute.
Sean and Emma Brown will celebrate with family and friends at Wynyard Hall in Billingham on November 27, following their wedding at a local church.
However, they received a call from the hall at 10 a.m. on the day of their wedding saying that they were exhausted due to Hurricane Arwen, and therefore would not be able to hold the reception there.
Luckily, Sean’s sister-in-law came to the rescue today, by offering Broomside Park Beefeater – where she works – as an alternative location.
Sean told the Durham Chronicle: “My sister-in-law called and said that at 12:30 we had 85 people with nowhere else to go.
“They went above and beyond for us. They organized buffets and hot food for everyone and they even gave us some flowers.
“They even provided a speaker so we could have our first dance, which still stings my eyes and will do for a while.
“Not only did they go the extra mile, they went the marathon as well.”
While Sean and Emma have been given a full refund by Wynyard Hall, the groom is still unhappy about how they handled the situation – especially since Emma is expecting a sibling for their two-year-old son Isaac. .
“It was a stressful time anyway, Emma and I both wanted a big wedding to celebrate with all our family and friends,” he added.
“Emma is pregnant and this has caused a lot of stress and restlessness for her. She’s also a nurse so she doesn’t need to aggravate this.
“To see your wife spend her day crying, she didn’t get the day she deserved or wanted and it’s soul-destructive to see someone go through that.”
A spokesman for Wynyard Hall added in a statement: “Hurricane Arwen has caused a great deal of damage to Wynyard Hall and its grounds, coupled with a lack of power, therefore, for health and safety. The safety of our guests and staff is always paramount, we couldn’t have hosted Sean and Emma’s reception.
“First, Sean and Emma have been given a full refund. We fully sympathize with Emma and Sean and are saddened to have to take the action we took.
“On the day of their wedding reception, our Wedding Coordinator discussed the possibility of hosting a first-year anniversary party, to which the couple verbally agreed.”
This wedding guest dressed in white, but it wasn’t her outfit that got everyone talking.
This woman didn’t invite her stepmother to her wedding, but he still paid for the big day.
And this woman went to a friend’s wedding as a guest, but it was completely staged.
