SOMETIMES Viagra users are extremely unlucky.

Users have also reported problems with their hearing – including late ones Hugh Hefnerwho said he “would rather have sex than his hearing,” according to his former lovers.

But the Playboy mogul, who died in 2017 at the age of 91, isn’t the only person facing Viagra-related issues.

One Briton reported that he had a permanent kink in his penis after treatment, while others were left with painful priapism – long-lasting painful erections.

This is where others reveal their more extreme problems.

Inflamed penis required amputation

A poor guy had to amputate his penis after taking Viagra.

Gentil Ramírez Polanía reportedly took too much of the drug on purpose to impress his new girlfriend with his sexual prowess in 2013.

But the Colombian, who was over 60 at the time, ended up with a painful erection that lasted for several days.

Doctors who treated him found that Polanía’s penis was inflamed and fractured, with signs of gangrene.

Medics said they would have to amputate the limb to stop the spread of tissue death.

electrician Nat Thin suffered a months-long erection after taking Viagra in 2019.

Nat was only 26 at the time and ended up having to have surgery on his penis.

When the surgery failed, doctors spent three days trying to find a solution until Nat went limp naturally.

But he was then unable to get an erection.

“There’s no point in my being depressed about what happened,” he said at the time.

“I’ve even gotten to the point where I can see the funny side of what happened. I used to have a healthy sex life and that’s obviously impossible for me now.”

Erectile dysfunction and the use of Viagra:

Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition, especially in older men.

It is estimated that half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 are affected to some degree.

It is defined as inability get and keep an erection.

Viagra is available in the UK without a prescription – but should be used with caution, after consulting a doctor if you feel comfortable with it, and at the recommended dose.

Pills like Viagra work by relaxing blood vessels – which temporarily increases blood flow to the penis, leading to an erection.

They usually work within 30-60 minutes of ingestion, but Viagra, for example, can be taken up to four hours before sexual activity.

Since its debut in 1998, it has largely safely enabled millions of men to take control of their sex lives. But if taken in the wrong dose or if you don’t need it, problems can arise as shown in these examples.

Others were luckier and suffered only hours of agony instead of weeks.

Mike Dowdall took a Viagra pill to enhance a marathon sex session with his wife Amanda.

But hours later, the father-of-three’s penis was still “tent pole straight.”

“I was in pain and my penis was throbbing,” Mike said.

“After two showers – one warm and one cold – he was still standing.

“I was panicking and the stress made it worse. Amanda got me an ice pack which helped for a while.”

Mike added, “Having an erection of this intensity that doesn’t go away is like someone sticking glass in your eye over and over again.”

His horrible erection didn’t end until 9am the next morning, with another 24 hours of pain after that.

Even stranger symptoms have been reported by some who have decided to roll the dice and buy Viagra online.

Jake Land was just 21 when he decided to try the pills while touring around Manchester.

“Within an hour of taking the pill, my vision started turning green,” he said.

“It was like someone put a filter on everything.

“Everything looked blurry too and even though the drug was working, it felt like someone kicked me really hard in the groin.”

After having sex three times with someone he met that evening, he suffered flu-like symptoms the next day.

Jack added: “I threw away the remaining pills and would never take them again unless it was a doctor’s prescription.”

According to the British Medical Journal’s case report, the 36-year-old man developed “sudden severe pain” and was taken to hospital.

A penis fracture occurs when an erect penis is struck with considerable force.

In this case, the father underwent surgery to remove a blood clot and repair the tear in his penis.

The operation was successful and the patient was able to get an erection normally again.
