The forecaster said high pressure will dominate for much of this week, mainly dry with good sunny spells and some rain showers. From Friday it will be more restless.

A few showers will develop this afternoon and evening, mainly over the Midlands, Connacht and Ulster, and some potentially heavy showers are also possible.
Highest temperatures range between 18°C and 23°C with light to moderate east to south east breezes.
Tonight it will be mostly dry with low temperatures between 10°C and 13°C with a light breeze.
Tuesday will be largely dry with sunny spells and maximum temperatures between 18°C and 22°C with light to moderate easterly breezes.
It will be mild and mainly dry overnight with lows of 9°C to 12°C with light, variable breezes.
Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly dry with intermittent sunshine and only a few rain showers.
The highest temperatures are between 18 °C and 22 °C with mainly light to moderate easterly winds. The lowest night time temperatures are between about 9 °C and 12 °C.
On Friday, after a mostly dry start, a band of rain will move in from the west and heavy showers will move further east.
Heavy downpours are likely in the second half of the day, particularly over Leinster and Ulster with localized flooding.
The highest temperatures are between 16°C and 20°C with light to moderate easterly breezes.
The coming weekend will continue uneasily with further rain showers or partly heavy showers. Temperatures range from around 17°C to 21°C.
