Weather Ireland: Met Éireann forecast wet and windy conditions for Saturday before dry conditions set in

Saturday starts out wet and windy with fresh and gusty winds and rain or drizzle in most areas.

Ind will ease as the afternoon progresses and rain will generally become lighter and more patchy, Met Éireann advised, but there will be intermittent heavy weather in the south and south-east.

It will be dry in most places by evening, but another band of showers will move in from the west.

It will feel mild for this time of year, with statewide highs of 11-14.

Saturday night will be rainy and blustery, wetter over the western half of the country.

“Sunday will be light and breezy with sunshine and showers. The showers will be strongest and most frequent in the west. Maximum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with fresh and gusty southerly winds that ease off slightly to moderately in the course of the evening.

“Scattered showers will continue into Sunday night, mainly near the coast. Colder than recent nights, with possible frost as air temperatures drop to 1-5 degrees. Nebulae and fog are possible in light to moderate, variable winds.

“Generally dry and sunny on Monday, although there will be some showers, especially in the morning. Maximum temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with light to moderate westerly winds,” said meteorologist Linda Hughes.

Monday night will be cold and dry with intermittent long clear spells and temperatures that will be close to freezing in places. Fog and fog are possible in some areas.

Tuesday will be mostly dry and cloudy early in the morning before rain and windier conditions can develop in the west and southwest in the afternoon. The maximum temperatures are between seven and twelve degrees.

The second half of next week remains uncertain with a southerly airflow most likely bringing cloudy conditions with scattered outbreaks of rain and highs of 10-13 degrees. Weather Ireland: Met Éireann forecast wet and windy conditions for Saturday before dry conditions set in
