WEST HAM first-team coach Billy McKinlay is dying for the side to claim their first win of the season ahead of the game against Albion.
Graham Potter’s next opponents are in Europa Conference League qualifiers tonight and have yet to win a game this season.
The Hammers were beaten by Manchester City on the opening day of the season and then by Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Tonight West Ham take on Danish club Viborg as they attempt to reach the group stage of the Europa Conference League.
McKinlay said: “When you’ve lost a game you want to get back on that horse straight away and we have a chance to do that.
“We got used to playing Thursday to Sunday for most of last year, so hopefully we can get the right result and start the season.
“Not having some points on the board is disappointing. Sunday was a missed opportunity. We probably should have taken something from the game, so it’s not an ideal start in terms of points, but we feel like that the level of performance improved, and hopefully we will too.” I can fix that soon enough.”
“Since Nottingham Forest on Sunday we’ve been glued to the video and we’ve got all the reports so there’s no way, shape or form that we’re doing it any differently than a regular game.
“So we are well prepared to know as much as possible. Nobody at the club will be complacent – we know it’s going to be a difficult game and we need to play well to get the right result. ”
Albion have not lost a game against the Hammers since their promotion to the Premier League and in the final game of the 2021/22 season they defeated the Londoners 3-1 at Amex.
