Mark Feehily’s eye for interior design certainly helped him sell his four-bedroom property for over €1.15million last summer.

The Westlife singer, 41, snapped up the stunning Sligo home, which sits on the edge of Lough Gill, in 2006 and has spent years redesigning and refurbishing the rural property.

Mark, who shares two-year-old daughter Layla with fiancé Cailean O’Neill, oversaw every phase of the renovation – from drafting hand plans for the builders to sourcing furniture and plumbing.

His hard work has clearly paid off as, with the help of real estate agent Sherry Fitzgerald, The Masked Singer star was able to sell the property for more than the asking price just two months after it was put on the market last summer.

With the property originally built in the 1970s and boasting features such as a recording studio, wet bar, wine cellar, garage and three acres of surrounding land, it’s not hard to see why a bidding war ensured the stunning Mark home was taken out of hands.

From the living room of the singer’s former home you can see Church Island to the north, believed by some to be the true inspiration for The Lake Isle of Innisfree.

The bathroom boasts a freestanding copper bathtub with breathtaking views, while the spacious kitchen features a huge dining area.

Mark’s attention to detail even made areas like stairs interesting focal points – the walls surrounding the stairs of his former home were adorned with books and eye-catching ornaments.

The exterior of the property is equally impressive, with the private grounds offering the homeowner the peace and serenity of the Sligo countryside.

With a fire pit and children’s playground, the several acres of land can also serve as the perfect place to entertain friends and loved ones.

Over the years, Mark has used the property as the perfect hideaway to escape between his hectic touring schedules.

The singer, who became a father for the first time in 2019, is said to have made plans to buy the idyllic property before even setting foot inside.

Aside from making a pretty penny in the real estate market, Mark also has a lot to celebrate in his professional life – he received a prestigious LGBTQ+ award earlier this year.

The Irish singer was honored with the Global Recognition Award for Diversity at the Burberry-sponsored British Diversity Awards last month thanks to his tireless work as a campaigner for surrogacy rights for LGBTQ+ families.

The singer’s old home provides the perfect backdrop for entertaining

“This is an incredible honor and the most important award I have received in my career. I mean, I’ve won awards for my music and awards with Westlife, but this is very special,” said the father-of-one at the prestigious awards ceremony.

“I’m proud and hope it helps highlight the issues LGBT+ families who want to start their own families still face.”

He added: “There is still work to be done and our work will not stop until we achieve full equality.”

Mark and Cailean welcomed daughter Layla into the world via surrogate on October 1, 2019.

“All in all, all I can say is that it’s beautiful because all I think about now is her, I don’t have to think about myself that much,” Mark told the Mirror shortly after becoming a father.

“I used to think and question everything maybe, so it’s nice to actually have a break from that.

“You’re totally focused on another little person and a tiny smile from her right now is like winning the lottery or something, it’s the best feeling in the world, so to have so much joy in a tiny thing, it just moves everything in the right light, you know.”
