The 39-year-old died just months after becoming a first-time mother to baby Phia in October.

Inseparably her beloved partner, Philip ‘Powder’ Freeman, it was her death wish to marry him before she died.

Lisa tied the knot from her hospital bed on Saturday with what Fr. Jim Doyle described as “her last words”.

The mourners gathered at the Church of St. Aidan’s, Enniscorthy, to pay tribute to the young mother and teacher this morning.

Her aunt Mag has described her as “the sweetest and kindest girl” and fondly recalls family holidays over the years.

She said “during her illness, Lisa talked about Phia, she talked about her first steps, her first words, her first day of school, her 21 years old. “

Mag added: “She never complained once, she never cried for herself, but she often cried asking how she would let people know how grateful she was for all that. they did for her.”

Crowds lined the streets as Lisa was taken to her final resting place in St.

‘LOVE OF MY LIFE’

Heartbroken Philip told how marrying Lisa was the “happiest day” of his life.

He shared the news on Instagram that: “Yesterday I rushed to ask the love of my life to marry me.

“Then today we tie the knot and get married! The happiest day of my life.

“She made me the proudest, happiest man to ever walk God’s earth!”

Wexford CBS also closed as a mark of respect for today’s teacher.

‘ESTEEM VERY HIGH’

After hearing of Lisa’s death, the school wrote: “Ms Lisa O’Connor Freeman is greatly appreciated by all her colleagues and students.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to her husband Philip, daughter Phia, her parents Christy and Jenny, her sister Tracey, extended family and friends.

“Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 19 as a sign of respect.

“Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. May her tender soul rest in eternal peace.”
