What Andor Gets Right That Other Star Wars Shows Are Wrong

Some of the best “Star Wars” we’ve ever had on TV. While “The Mandalorian” is definitely included in it, I’m also talking about animation, such as “Star Wars Rebels.” But Disney has doubled down on TV in this franchise after the sequel trilogy, and in some cases that doesn’t make much sense or doesn’t deliver ideal results.

“The Book of Boba Fett” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi” have their fans, but in my humble opinion, these shows have been taken by the media and are probably going to be good. more like a movie. Both of those shows were originally going to be movies at various points. Unfortunately, the relative failure of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” at the box office caused Lucasfilm to step back a bit and rethink its strategy with spin-offs. So those projects became alternative shows, largely because “The Mandalorian” did so well on Disney+, opening a new path for “Star Wars” to go through.

But just for something maybe being a show doesn’t mean it Candlestick it is in. More is not better. You can feel the story stretch at points in “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, and perhaps most importantly, the budget. Having to stretch that dollar for more than many hours represented a major disagreement. It deserves to feel cinematic. Deborah Chow may have directed a freak movie that reunites Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader. The show has its standout moments, but for the most part it’s a five-hour series made up of episodes that aren’t really multiple episodes – they’re just breaking points that just sort/type effectively.

Similarly, “The Book of Boba Fett” feels as if it could be better served as a more concise, cinematic story. Having to tell a longer and smart story on a budget will hurt the project in the long run. In my humble “Star Wars” favorite, none of these series benefited from being a show more than a movie. That’s the key.
