What are the new features in FIFA 23?

RELEASED today, FIFA 23 is the final game in the series from developer EA Sports.

EA has announced that it will release a new series called EA Sports FC starting next year, while FIFA has announced it will be collaborating with a new studio to develop games.

As the last game in the 30-year franchise, players want to know what actually changed.

Here is our round-up of all the new features in FIFA 23:

What new modes are coming in FIFA 23?

All modes in FIFA 23 have been carried over from existing titles including Career Mode, Tournament Mode, FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), Pro Clubs and Volta.

However, there are some new ways to play in each mode.

Career mode has completely overhauled the way players progress. There are now personality points that alter your player’s development.

Real managers have also been added to manager career mode, using the likenesses of the real manager.

Women’s Premier League and Ligue 1 clubs have been added to Tournament mode.

Pro Clubs and Volta now share progression, making playing these modes less tiring.

FUT introduced FUT Moments. These are real-life player career short stories that you can play through to earn packs.

Added new walkouts with Fortnite-style dances so you can see if you have a high-rated player when you open a pack.

EA has also introduced a new anti-cheat system to the online game, but the majority of fans are worried about the impact it is having.

Worlds mode comes into play this December. A Women’s World Cup mode will also be added for the first time sometime next summer.

What features have been added to gameplay in FIFA 23?

A number of new game mechanics have been added to FIFA 23.

Power Shots are a new way to score goals with a three-button input. They take time to execute but have a higher chance of scoring.

Free kicks, corner kicks and penalty kicks all work in new ways.

FIFA 23 tried to put more emphasis on defensive players this year.

The goalie and defender AI has changed, but so far it seems easier to score goals than in FIFA 22.

This will likely be improved in a later update.

How have the graphics improved in FIFA 23?

The area where FIFA 23 has seen the most improvements is the visual upgrades.

There are a large number of new faces added by scanning the real players.

EA is most proud of the improvements to the game’s pitch.

Meshes are in 3D for the first time. The playing field is more realistic than ever, and if you skid, you’ll leave a trail.

Hypermotion2 offers players more realistic animations.

The movements of the most famous players have been recorded in the game.

Female players now have their own animations as well, compared to last year when they were men who only looked like women.
