The weekend has arrived again, which means it’s time to do something other than work.
Well it’s May and that means you might need to spend some time outside doing things to keep your apartment looking chic. You might have flowers to plant, spread mulch, mow a yard, pick up dog waste, fix a gate, wash a car… a whole host of things.
But don’t work too hard. You’ve just finished a work week and deserve to forget it’s there, stay out of the sun for a bit and do nothing but play a game or two.
Here’s what we’re planning for the weekend.
Connor Makar, Staff Writer – Warframe, Genshin Impact, maybe more
I’m getting back on this week war frame once again – which has become my favorite live service title for the past few weeks. It’s almost Tennocon and I guess I caught myself feeling the passion that’s been sinking me into it for like 900 hours since that moment.
That being said, I also want to set aside some time Genshin Impact in view of the upcoming major update that will arrive at the end of this month. I have some stuff to farm and characters to level up, so that’s where I’ll be spending my hours for sure.
That being said, the occasional fighting game here and there will definitely be in my schedule. multiverse remains a super fun title that I’m sitting on my PS5 begging to be played, so I think I’ll give up and play it once or twice. A packed week!
Dom Peppiatt, Features Editor – Monster Hunter Rise
The other day my significant other came home from a night out to find me hunched over my gaming laptop in the living room. The lights were dim. The hi-fi system was probably blaring some stupid metal record. My Switch was on a table next to me and I also had the TV on. All three screens featured Monster Hunter Rise; the PC – where I’m burning through the whole game again – was in the middle of a hunt, my Switch was open to reference the build I’d already finished the game with, and the TV was showing Youtube videos on how to get the most out of it DPS with equipped sword and shield.
“Are you alright?” my partner asked, clearly concerned. My eyes were probably bloodshot, my hands shaking as I rescued another wretched Rathalos from his misery, desperate to rip a rare plate or ruby from his infernal body parts. “Yes!” I croaked back hoarsely, trying to contain the excitement of a 1% drop. “Yes I’m fine!”
I’m currently practicing for Monster Hunter Sunbreak, which is coming out at the end of June. And I need to make sure that both my PC and Switch saves for Rise are set up for the endgame challenges when they’re available to me. I can’t go in without the very best gear and slickest decorations and take on the big new beasts, Master Rank and everything else Capcom has in store for me, right?
Kelsey Raynor, Guides Writer – Minecraft, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
It’s been a long week so I’ll kick back with some this weekend Minecraft.
I’m usually it for weeks and then neglect it for months then the cycle repeats itself. My realm has a huge Kirby statue in the spawn right now, so that’s neat. But my house is still a mud hut.
I’ll probably play around too Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards although it will be added to Nintendo Switch Online if I don’t get too into Minecraft.
That’s an eclectic selection of games from us this week. So what about you? Do you have plans other than playing games? And when you find the time to put your feet up and grab a controller (or sit down at your desk with KBM), what do you plan on playing?
