What channel is the Laver Cup on? Here’s how to watch Roger Federer’s last game on TV tonight

Roger Federer will be featured in a special edition of the Laver Cup as the O2 Arena in London hosts the final tournament in the career of one of the greatest athletes of all time.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion announced his retirement from tennis last week aged 41 but will initially join forces with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray when Europe take on Team World.

Europe have won all four previous editions of the tournament, but the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe are hoping for the world’s first win under captain John McEnroe.

However, the world’s attention will be on Federer as the Swiss puts an end to a historic career in London by playing doubles on Friday night.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When is the Laver Cup?

The Laver Cup starts on Friday 23rd September and ends on Sunday 25th September.

Is the Laver Cup on TV?

The tournament will be broadcast on Eurosport in the UK. It will also be available to stream online on Discovery Plus.

When does Roger Federer play?

Federer will play alongside his great rival Rafael Nadal in Friday night’s doubles match, which will come after Andy Murray’s match against Alex De Minaur. The evening session will start at 7pm so Federer and Nadal playing Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe might play around 9:30pm local time at the O2 Arena but it could be a bit later.

How does the Laver Cup work?

Singles and doubles matches are played each day, with Friday matches counting one point, Saturday matches two and Sunday matches three.

Each player plays in at least one singles match during the first two days, but no player may play more than two singles matches during the three days.

At least four players on each team must play doubles, but no doubles combination can be used more than once.

Best of three sets will be played, but the third set is a 10-point match tiebreak if the first two sets are split.

The winning team is the first to reach 13 points. With 24 points available, a decider will be played in a 12-12 draw.
