Katie Price has her prison sentence changed for violating the restraining order after telling the court she was receiving dialectical behavior therapy to deal with her feelings
Katie Price, 44, was spared an 18-month community order and 170 hours of unpaid work for violating a strict restraining order.
She previously faced jail time for a vile “gutter” text message sent to Kieran Hayler’s fiancée Michelle Penticost, who carried out the restraining order following a melee outside her children’s school surname.
Katie could face up to five years in prison, although the court’s decision means she will be able to return home today.
Upon arriving in court, she hurled an X-rated insult at reporters outside the building when asked if she was going to jail today.
In the extenuating section, Katie’s lawyer said the former glamor model could hardly “contain” herself when she felt she was being criticized as a mother.
Her legal team revealed she is receiving dialectical behavior therapy to help her regulate her emotions.
This is a specialized type of treatment for people with very intense emotions.
What is dialectical behavior therapy?
The purpose of dialectical behavior therapy is simple: it helps you understand and accept your difficult emotions, learn skills to manage them, and possibly create positive changes.
It is a type of talk therapy in which an individual will sit down and discuss their feelings with a licensed professional.
It is based on cognitive behavioral therapy, an intervention aimed at reducing the symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders.
Dialectical behavior therapy is aimed at people who struggle with the intensity of their emotions.

Katie avoided jail today after she admitted breaking a restraining order against ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancée Michelle Penticost.
Instead, she received an 18-month community order and had to do 170 hours of unpaid work, including an extra 20 hours if she violated a suspended driving sentence.
She was also required to pay £1,500 in expenses.
Last month, she pleaded guilty to breaking orders by sending a text message to Michelle calling her a “debauchery toy” and a “c***ing whore.”
A violation like this could land her in jail for 5 years.
In a victim impact statement read out in court, Michelle said: “The impact of what Katie did was so upsetting, I felt threatened and threatened.”
“I felt demoralized and didn’t want to go out. The language used makes me feel scared. I felt it was an attack on me.
“As a result, I felt she was going to attack me. I feel that having a restraining order makes me feel safe, but if someone violates it it makes me feel very vulnerable. “
Judge Stephen Mooney told Price: “In my judgment, this offense was committed out of anger.
“The words you used are very offensive and inflammatory so the violation cannot be considered minor.
“In my opinion, the balance between aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the appropriate sentence is a community order at a moderate level.”
Price was seen smiling as she left the pier.
