ONCE has been dubbed the sexiest woman in the world, Joan Collins’ latest TV appearance has reminded us just how glamorous she is – and still is.
After seeing her New Year’s Day documentary, many fans couldn’t help but long for the 88-year-old’s iconic role of Alexis Carrington in the hit series Dynasty in the 1980s. .

“Katy’s accident was the worst thing that ever happened to me,” she said.
This role helped her rise to stardom as did many other co-stars.

Joan Collins – Alexis Carrington
Dame Joan Collins, 88, plays Alexis after her daughter Katy’s accident and after finding out her then-husband, Ron Kass, has nearly broken them.
This role cemented her as a strong place in film and television and she went on to star in The Royals, Benidorm, etc.
She has been married three more times since the show and is finally happy with her fifth husband Percy Gibson, who is 32 years her junior.
Joan described him as her “soulmate” and declared, “I have found my husband forever.”
In 2015, she was awarded the Damehood Award for her philanthropic work and has for many years been named “the most beautiful girl in England” and “the sexiest woman in the world”.
John Forsythe – Blake Carrington
American actor as Blake Carrington, an oil baron, ex-husband of Alexis.
When he got the role, he was already a household name and was starring as the mysterious, never-before-seen millionaire private investigator Charles Townsend in Charlie’s Angels.
After finishing the series, he took a break and then starred in NBC’s The Powers That Be.
Behind the scenes, his wife fell ill, and in 1994, he made the heartbreaking decision to turn off her life support system when cancer and difficulty breathing led to a coma.
He remarried in 2002 and played his final role a year later as Charles Townsend in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle alongside Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
Sadly, in April 2010, he died of pneumonia at his home in California, aged 92.
Pamela Bellwood – Claudia Blaisdel Carrington
Pamela, 70, was on her way to becoming a successful actress when she took on the role of Claudia.
She left film to work as a full-time mom, occasionally acting in TV series, and married Nic Wheeler in 1984.
In 1983, Pamela traveled to Africa to pose semi-nude on Playboy with members of the Masai tribe, before turning down another $1 million to stand for Hustler.
The actress later said her father did not speak to her for a month after filming Playboy.
John James – Jeff Colby
John, 65, played the show’s main antagonist and went on to star in a spin-off called The Colbys.
This was his first big TV role and he’s worked on it consistently – since then including a lead role on All My Children and as Joe Biden in the upcoming biopic My Son Hunter.
He is married to Miss World runner-up Denise Ellen Coward and they have two children: Phillip, who is in the US Air Force, and Laura, winner of America’s Next Top Model.
In 2014, he considered running as a Republican for New York’s 21st congressional district.
Heather Locklear – Sammy Jo Carrington
Heather, 60, broke up with Dynasty and went on to star in Spin City and Melrose Place.
In addition to acting, she has attracted the attention of fans for her romances, including drummer Mötley Crüe Tommy Lee and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
She was also arrested twice for allegedly using a battery and was hospitalized on suspicion of an overdose in 2018.
Heather’s only daughter, Ava, is a swimsuit model.
Al Corley – Steven Carrington
Al, 65, only made two Dynasty series before leaving – insisting his character never had any fun.
He then went on to star in 14 films and directed five.
Al has also released a hit single titled Square Rooms and three studio albums.
In 1989, he married German actress Jessika Cardinahl. They have three children: Sophie Elena, Ruby Cardinahl and Clyde Nikolai Corley.
Emma Samms – Fallon Carrington Colby
Brit Emma, 61, became a household name in American General Hospital before being cast as Fallon.
After the series ended, she also appeared in the spin-off The Colbys and recently guest-starred on Holby City and Doctors.
She has been married four times and has two children with her fourth husband John Holloway. She is currently married to television journalist Simon McCoy.
Emma contracted Covid-19 in 2020 and suffered long-term complications from the initial infection.
Michael Nader – Farnsworth ‘Dex’ Dexter
After playing Dex in Dynasty, Michael went on to have a brief stint in the American soap opera All My Children, but his contract was terminated when he was arrested for drug possession.
He then tried and failed to sue the ABC network for firing him – alleging that they said he could come back if his drug problem was resolved.
His personal life saw him dating actress Ellen Barber for a decade before they split. In June 1984, he married Robin Weiss and they had a daughter a month later but broke up.
He later married Jodi Lister, with whom he stayed for 18 years until his death.
Michael died on August 23, 2021, at the age of 76 at his home, ten days after being diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer.
Linda Evans – Krystle Grant Jennings Carrington
The 73-year-old continued her acting career with a series of television roles before retiring in 1987.
She decided to move to a remote area in Washington State and have a home with 70 acres of woodland.
In 2009, she won the Hell’s Kitchen in the United Kingdom, defeating Ade Edmondson in a thrilling final.
Linda has been married and divorced twice but remains close to her stepdaughter Sean Catherine Deck.
In May 2014, she was arrested for driving under the influence of a prescription.
Kathleen Beller – Kirby Anders
Kathleen originally wanted to be a midwife before finding her passion for acting.
She was married to actor Michael Hoit from 1980 to 1986. After their divorce, she found love with musician Thomas Dolby and married him in 1988.
They have three children, including Harper Robertson, who was born a girl but had sex reassignment surgery and now lives in Suffolk and raises awareness about transgender rights.
Kathleen said: ‘I don’t think we could dare expect Harper to be as happy as he is now. It’s a relief.”
Jack Coleman – Steven Carrington
Jack, 63, replaces Al Corey as Blake’s son and plays one of the first openly gay characters on primetime TV.
He left the series in 1988 and went on to play a gay man in The Vampire Diaries as well as in The US Office when he played the self-contained State Senator Rob Lipton.
In 1996, he married actress Beth Toussaint and the couple had a daughter, Tess, born in 1999.
Jack is currently starring in the NBC series Ordinary Joe.
Kate O’Mara – Cassandra ‘Caress’ Morrell
Prior to her appearance in Dynasty, Kate rose to fame in the UK following her roles in ITV’s The Main Chance and the BBC television series The Brothers.
She appeared with Joan Collins in American soap for 5 years and was relieved to be released because she didn’t like living in California.
Kate went on to appear in Doctor Who and BBC’s Howards’ Way as the scheming villain Laura Wilde.
She has been married twice and has two children from previous relationships – son Christopher, whom she has adopted, and Dickon.
In December 2012, Dickon was found dead at his family home in a suspected suicide. He was not found for three days.
Kate died on 30 March 2014 in a nursing home in Sussex, aged 74, of ovarian cancer. She left no property to her surviving son.
