What is the Brighton forecast for the bank holiday?

SUMMER is set to come to a disappointing end as only average temperatures are forecast for the bank holiday weekend.

However, conditions this weekend will be significantly cooler with highs of just 22C.

Those hoping to soak up the last of the summer sunshine may also be disappointed by the plentiful clouds that will end the rest of August with intermittent sunny spells.

In some good news, beachgoers will be spared some of the thunderstorm rains Sussex saw earlier this week.

Despite the average conditions, the RAC has warned of travel disruptions over the bank holiday weekend.

RAC spokesman Rod Dennis said: “As it is the last bank holiday before Christmas for many people, we expect traffic congestion to build up over the course of Friday afternoon and the same to happen in waves throughout the weekend.

“Stable weather will be good news for most, but riders need to be aware of downpours in the west with the possibility of standing water posing a hazard.

“We also strongly encourage drivers to make sure their vehicles are in good condition before driving and to keep a close eye on the weather forecast.”
