What is TikTok’s Taste the Biscuit trend?

If you’ve been on TikTok, you might be wondering why users are encouraged to “try the cookie.”

This is thanks to the relatively new filter on TikTok, which has allowed users to put their faces on chrome models wearing casual attire for island life.

A song called “Taste the Biscuit” plays in the background as the chrome-plated summer models stroll along the beach like they’re in the middle of a catwalk photoshoot.

Users then sync to the tune and add a comedic caption to create ridiculously absurd content — and TikTok is wild about it.

There’s not much more to the meme than the fact that people are swinging to the song and enjoying themselves.

Some users go to various remixes of the song while other users are looking for official audio to use in their videos.

Most of the time, TikTok users don’t even fully understand the meme, but as with all trends, users want to be a part of it – and that’s exactly what they are doing.

Who are the creators of the “Taste the Biscuit” trend on TikTok?

The creators of the Taste the Biscuit trend are Toasters ‘N’ Moose – a 1970s pop duo who were also the artists in the 2010 comedy-music mockumentary Chickens in the Shadow.

The film follows Toasters ‘N’ Moose as they attempt to stage a three-day comeback tour in North Carolina.

In one particular scene, the tune “Taste the Biscuit” is played when the band’s manager manages to get a gig at a local thrift store.

And this isn’t the only time the song has gone viral – the catchy tune has also been featured on celebrity talk shows and even received cover versions from celebrity musicians.

In conversation with Rolling StoneDirector Vincent Gargiulo said, “So it wasn’t that much of a surprise this time, although this time it seems bigger. I don’t understand the Chrome Lady, but sure, cool.”

Estelle Piper, who plays Toasters in the film, also spoke to the publication about the song.

She said the song “was picked up by all kinds of fans who made their own versions and duets on YouTube.

“It seems that when a new social media platform becomes the norm, Taste the Biscuit will never fall too far behind.”

What are people saying about the Taste the Biscuit trend on TikTok?

Of all the weird and wonderful trends, this one is perhaps the most confusing.

Still, TikTok users love responding to the trend.

One user shared a video of himself participating in the trend, writing, “Hi to the other 276 other people on Taste The Biscuit Tok.”

Another responded to a posted video of the original creators performing to the unusual tune.

She wrote, “Every time I think I’m going to leave social media, quality content like this brings me back.”

Regardless of whether users understand the trend or not, one thing we do know: Taste the Biscuit seems to be here to stay.
