The new icons coming as Apple released an update to its operating system on March 14, 2022.

Around 217 new emojis have been added since the release of iOS 15 in September 2021.

The last update saw 123 new emoji included in the catalogue, acc Emojipedia.

Among them are “10 non-standard handshake emoji combinations” where one of the hands has no skin tone modifier.

There are also palms up, palms down, and index finger pointing.
