The Irish film stars Victoria Smurfit, Angeline Ball, Ericka Roe, Shauna Higgins and Lauren Larkin.

It was written and directed by Rachel Carey, who won the Discovery Award at the Dublin International Film Festival.

The comedy is set in a working-class Dublin hair salon and tells the story of a group of stylists who unwittingly become community heroes when they take on members of a local gang.

Victoria is known for her role as Orla O’Connell in the BBC television series Ballykissangel.

She played the role of Suzie in About A Boy.

The Dubliner played Cruella De Vil in Once Upon A Time for which she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress in the 13th IFTA Film and Drama Awards in 2016.

Victoria also appeared as the weather girl in The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

ANGELINE BALL

Angeline Ball was born in June 1969, this year she is 52 years old.

Angeline played Michelle, the owner of the small salon in the razor-sharp Irish comedy, Deadly Cuts.

Angeline is no stranger to crime television as she is known for her role in the RTE drama Can Take a Risk.

Among the young Irish stars starring in the dark comedy is Ericka Roe, who plays Stacey, a no-nonsense stylist.

Ericka is relatively new to the industry and started her acting career in 2017.

However, the Ballyfermot native has played a number of roles including Amy in the critically acclaimed move, Herself and Tina in the fifth series of Taken Down.

Talking about her time working on Deadly Cuts, she told Irish Examiner: “Angeline was one of the first women I saw on screen with a voice like mine in The Commitment.

“The girls and I couldn’t believe we were going to work with Imelda Quirke. Seeing her come from Cabra to where she is now and the things she’s done, it’s just amazing.”

SHAUNA HIGGINS

Shauna Higgins plays the talented colorist Chantelle in Deadly Cuts.

Shauna is relatively new to the acting field.

Irish actress who played Melanie McGonigal in the TV series Red Rock and Diane in Taken Down.

Shauna has also played Taylor in the hairdressing TV series Headcase.

LAUREN LARKIN

Another rising Irish actress is Lauren Larkin.

Lauren plays Gemma, one of the hairdressing guards.
