What will you play this weekend?

It’s time of the week again. It’s time to forget your troubles, have fun, and banish all your worries. By playing video games.

This weekend we’ll be doing a lot of Kung Fu and lightning-fast fights, playing the latest MMO, doing a bit of skateboarding and fighting fantasy machines in a world besieged by a red light. .

Well, we’ll keep ourselves very busy.

Connor Makar, Screenwriter – Lost Ark, King of Fighters 15

This weekend, I will do my best to get more Lost beer keg the better time. No doubt the queue will be huge, but I think if I wake up early enough I will be able to queue. I’ll try to rewrite that adventure journal as much as I can before work resumes on Monday.

Also, now that King of Fighters 15 is out in full force, I’d like to have some real online practice underway. I’m still pretty bad, but I hope by the end of the week I’ll be able to change that. Here is hope!

Dom Peppiatt, Feature Editor – OlliOlli World, Western Forbidden Horizon

Last week, for this feature, I told you all I was going to play OlliOlli’s World. Seven days ahead, and here I am… still playing OlliOlli World. Maybe the decision to play it by making sure I complete every objective as I go was a mistake (especially as I near the end of the game, eesh), but I’m still happy. Just ignore that stinging blood blister on my thumb, it’s ready to pop out in no time.

I also finished Forbidden Horizon in the West before preparing my review at the start of the week, but I haven’t finished it yet – there are still some trophies to clean up and I’m also trying to make sure I complete all the Arena quests. They’re tough, but those timed encounters really shine a light on how tight the battle is when the game is firing on all turrets. However, hopefully those high level battles will be a little easier on my ruined digits after OlliOlli.

James Blillcliffe, Instruction Editor – Sifu

I’m sorry for lying to you.

Last week I said I would dive into kungfu brawler Sifu for a bit (or rather the Five-Point Exploding Heart Technique) of nostalgia. I know well that I will have to play Forbidden Horizon in the West all weekend for work and I’ve done enough.

This weekend, however, I’m going to correct the injustice by finally giving Sifu a shot, while also trying not to think about the time I spent watching The Raid 2 – another great fighting movie – the sex toy factory and all, with my parents at Christmas. When I was 19 years old.

(By the way, Horizon is also very good)

Tom Orry, Editor-in-Chief – Horizon Forbidden West, PS5

Forbidden Horizon in the West is a very nice game. I only played for about an hour, but it got me more excited than the curated original at this point. Not that it’s a particularly quick opening, with things winding a bit once the scene is established. However, I still want to play more and I enjoy fighting more than I did in the first game, which is good news.

But what I really want to mention here is what Guerrilla did on the PS4 version. Our friends at Digital Foundry broke it all down in the video above. You can really see the PS5 version going beyond what is possible on 8-year-old hardware, but what PS4 players get is still a great upgrade over the original.

That’s what we do this weekend. How about you? Did you choose Horizon Forbidden West? Are you surprised I didn’t type Horizon Zero Dawn once in this piece? Honestly, I’m pretty proud of that achievement. Anyway, let us know what you plan to play this weekend. Learn mind wants to know!
