Prince William, second in line to the throne, wants his uncle Prince Andrew “to disappear from public view,” claims an expert.
Prince Andrew, Duke of York stepped down from royal duties over his Virginia Giuffre scandal, but now it seems like that wasn’t enough for nephew William.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, an insider said Andrew’s “insistence on holding on to a public role is highly dangerous for the institution” and that William has “strong views” on the matter.
A friend said William “would have cut [Andrew] been going on for a long time if he had had his way”.
“He understands that the situation is complicated when it comes to mother and son, but honestly I think he just wishes he were out of the public eye.”
But at the central backbone of the family, William isn’t the only one who wants to change the shape and size of the monarchy.
His father Charles has been talking about a slimmed-down version of the family for years, but what would that look like?

Charles, Prince of Wales is said to have been interested in a slimmed-down monarchy for some time.
The heir to the throne, 73, has shouldered more responsibilities than his mother the Queen, 96, “starts to slow down” and now attention is turning to what the famous family with him at the helm might look like.
At the time of writing, the Royal Family’s website featured the 16 oldest royals in the family.
However, insider reports that Charles plans to bring that number down to about eight.
All of those eight members would be senior working royals.
According to The Times, one of the main reasons would be to protect the family’s reputation. Multiple press offices from different parts of the family can work at will, which makes dealing with challenges like a scandal much more difficult.
Running a royal family is also expensive. By reducing the number of working people, the monarchy would also reduce the number of people it would need to keep afloat through the Sovereign Grant, the public fund that supports the royals.
In September 2020, Forbes and BBC reported that the family may have lost around £35million due to the pandemic.
Insider reports that Charles’ lineup originally included Princes Philip and Harry. Philip retired in 2017 before sadly passing away four years later in 2021.
Harry, meanwhile, retired from public life in 2020 and moved to California with his wife Meghan Markle.
Speaking to the publication, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said the new family model would likely revolve around the Queen, Prince Charles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex and the Duchess of Cornwall , and Anne, Princess Royal.
“While these are all individuals who will represent the Crown going forward, I think Charles will try to draw attention to himself, Camilla and the Cambridge family as the future of the monarchy,” she added.
