WhatsApp has six BIG changes in the pipeline that will change the way you text forever

WHATSAPP has been very busy working on some massive new features lately.

We’ve already seen some big changes over the last few months, like reactions and even bigger groups.

But techies for the popular messaging app don’t stop there.

Early leaks courtesy of WABetaInfo Give us an idea of what could be launching very soon – while these are so early there are no guarantees.

See who left a group

We all go through some kind of group cleansing from time to time.

But you won’t be able to quietly disappear if this new feature has anything to offer.

WhatsApp is developing an option to see all “past attendees”.

Save chats before they are deleted

The ability to delete chats changed everything when WhatsApp launched.

But things look like they’re taking it a step further.

Developers are apparently testing a way to keep messages.

For now, users can set messages to disappear after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days, depending on your preferences.

However, the potentially upcoming update would allow users to select specific “saved messages” that would remain in the chat instead of being deleted.

Avatars for video chats

If you don’t feel like showing your face in a WhatsApp video chat, there might be another way soon.

In an upcoming update, you’ll be able to create your own cartoon character avatars – just like the Memoji on an Apple iPhone.

These can also be used as your face while you’re at it Whatsapp video calls.

Emoji status reactions

WhatsApp recently added reaction emoji for chat messages.

But it seems the idea will eventually be rolled out even further, this time into WhatsApp status.

And it looks pretty similar to Instagram Stories — which isn’t a surprise considering they’re owned by the same company.

stealth mode

A groundbreaking idea for those who like to keep their presence private could also be on the way in the future.

A sneaky “stealth mode” allows you to use the app without being seen, hiding your online status from friends.

Currently, you can only hide your Last Seen status on WhatsApp to hide your activities.

Voice memo waveforms

A small but useful addition is also being developed for voice memos.

Waveforms could be added which might not appear much on the surface.

The audio waveform of the voice note is displayed in the voice note chat bubble.

This means you can jump to the exact starting point if there is a lot of empty noise at the beginning.

And the same goes for truncation at the end.
