These features are not live yet, but are currently under development.

Whatsapp will not explicitly announce the features until they are ready to go live.

But the WhatsApp sniffer dogs WABetaInfo scoured the app’s “beta” trial to discover new features that aren’t yet widely available to the public.

text reactions

One of the more exciting updates is news reactions.

It’s a feature already available on Fellow Meta-own app Facebookbut is now also in development for WhatsApp.

And it could be a great way to text less – because you could just “react” to messages instead of having to type in replies.

The feature tested has six reactions: Like, Love, Laugh, Shocked, Teary Eye, and Pray (or high five…).

Now a plus icon will appear, which might indicate that you can add different emoji reactions.

New type of text

WhatsApp is also building a new type of text you can send: polls.

Yes, WhatsApp is working on a way for you Quickly ask friends for their opinion.

It’s a feature already available on competing services like Twitter and Telegram.

The feature seems to allow you to create polls for group chats.

This includes adding a question and up to 12 different answer choices.

WhatsApp’s new poll tool lets you see the responses, but it all stays in the group – including the results.

It could be a way for friends to make a decision on where to eat.

Or maybe a company could WhatsApp poll its employees about the state of the food in the office canteen.

You could even ask your family about rescuing a dog from a shelter — and if it’s right for you.

Or ask for a verdict on your new outfit. Brace yourself, you may not get the survey results you want.

WhatsApp Communities will be one of the biggest changes to the app.

It lets you effectively Create parent groups for group chats.

Groups are one of the most popular ways to write text within Facebook’s own app.

But having multiple groups can be chaotic at times — and hard to keep track of.

Whatsapp actually started to work Communities for gathering groups last year.

A community is a way of keeping groups organized.

Perhaps you could have a study group that includes many smaller groups.

Or maybe your neighborhood would have a community that splits into separate groups to educate and complain about neighborhood issues.

It is a trial version of the app used to test new features.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
