WhatsApp is about to unleash a NEW kind of text – first look reveals

WHATSAPP is working on a new type of text you can send to friends: polls.

The brilliant new feature is currently top secret and in development – but initial photos have been leaked online.

The photos were revealed by the Whatsapp sleuths at WABetaInfowho mine the app regularly upcoming changes.

WhatsApp polls are a quick way to get your friends’ opinions in group chats.

“As you can see in this screenshot, we finally discovered the interface when sending a survey,” WABetaInfo said.

This particular feature is still “under development”. iOS to the iPhonewhich means it is not actively tested by users.

Eventually, it will likely go through the WhatsApp beta, a trial version of the app where enthusiastic users can test out changes.

And if successful, the WhatsApp survey tool will eventually go live worldwide.

The feature seems to allow you to create polls for group chats.

This includes adding a question and up to 12 different answer choices.

WhatsApp’s new poll tool lets you see the responses, but it all stays in the group – including the results.

It could be a way for friends to make a decision on where to eat.

Or maybe a company could WhatsApp poll its employees about the state of the food in the office canteen.

You could even ask your family about rescuing a dog from a shelter — and if it’s right for you.

Or ask for a verdict on your new outfit. Brace yourself, you may not get the survey results you want.

So when can you send out surveys? It might take a while.

Some features take weeks, months, or even years to perfect.

“Even if you think polls are done, it’s not,” warned WABetaInfo.

“WhatsApp still has to improve the polls before the feature is released and that will take a lot of time.

“The feature is also in development in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. So don’t expect to see group polls anytime soon.”

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone you have to go google play on their Android and search for whatsapp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
