WHATSAPP now gives users the ability to “reset” texts sent by OTHER users.
Normally, it’s only possible to check your own messages – but that’s about to change.
WhatsApp has been developing a new admin delete feature for a while.
And the sniffer dogs WABetaInfo spotted the feature’s launch in the WhatsApp beta – a trial version of the app – as well as some happy general users.
This means that WhatsApp beta users can start testing the new change, along with everyone who has been selected to participate in the live app test.
It allows group chat admins to use “delete for everyone” on texts sent by other people.
This instantly retrieves the message from other devices – without leaving any trace of the text.
Instead, the message is replaced with a notice that the text has been deleted.
“If you want to check if the feature is enabled for your account, just try deleting a message sent by another participant within a group where you are an admin,” explained WABetaInfo.
“If you see ‘Delete for everyone’, it means the feature is finally available for your account.
“Additionally, a trial is now available for people using stable versions of the app, so group admins of non-beta versions may also be able to delete messages for everyone.”
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that you will participate in the live study.
And it may be days, weeks, or months before the feature fully rolls out on the live app.
If you want to try the latest features first, follow our guide below to join the WhatsApp beta.
How to join WhatsApp Beta
To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your smartphone Android and search for whatsapp.
Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.
Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.
Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.
Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.

If you want to try a trick that’s already live in the app, we’ve got one for you.
WhatsApp has many hidden secrets — and one can really up your texting game.
Just open WhatsApp and then go to a chat.
Holding your finger on a specific message gives you the option to star it.
Then go into your settings and look for starred messages.
That’s where all your favorite messages are stored in the app.
It’s an easy way to keep track of important messages – maybe an address, directions, or even a clever WhatsApp trick.
But that’s not all: you can also favorite certain chats.
By pinning a conversation, you can easily prioritize your best friends on WhatsApp.
When you have a busy WhatsApp, sometimes loved ones can get buried under groups and work chats.
But it’s actually possible to pin multiple chats so they stay at the top of your main conversations feed.
Go to your chat list, then swipe right on a conversation.
You can then tap Pin and that particular chat will get stuck at the top of the feed.
And if you change your mind later, you can always untag it.
