These changes seem imminent for the desktop, especially anyone using Microsoft’s new Windows 11 operating system.

Based on Neowin, the tech giant is developing a new app for the Windows Store, where PC users can download a variety of software.

And the leaked screenshots suggest it will take a lot of inspiration from the modern Windows style we’re used to.

This means more rounded radio buttons and drop-down menus similar to the design of Windows 11.

The new app is currently in beta testing, although it’s unclear when Meta – the owner of WhatsApp – plans to finish building the app and make it available to the public.

It comes because of several new and improved features for WhatsApp that came out in January.

One thing the tech world is experimenting with is the ability to turn text messages on and off.

A new global voice note player has also been discovered, allowing you to continue listening to voice notes even when you switch to another conversation.

A drawing editor update is also underway, with new pencils allowing users to scribble on WhatsApp images.

WhatsApp Business users are also set to receive some new features, with advanced search filters.

This will allow them to filter their chats and messages using special search filters, including contact, non-contact, and unread.

So, if you are a Windows 11 user, keep an eye out for a dedicated WhatsApp app that is likely to appear soon.
