WHATSAPP is testing two new features that change major parts of the app.

The Meta-owned app is working on a new search function and Facebook-style message response.

Both of these features are being tested in the beta version of the app.

It’s an experimental version of WhatsApp where new changes can be tested before rolling out to the wider public.

New features have been discovered by detectives at WABetaInfowho has a great track record of discovering WhatsApp changes.

Change WhatsApp search

WhatsApp has tweaked the Android beta to make searching easier.

Recently, the app has redesigned the contact information design on Android and iOS.

Now a search shortcut has been added to the redesigned contact info page.

This will allow you to quickly search messages for a contact with the new design.

WhatsApp message response

For weeks we’ve been seeing leaks about WhatsApp test message responses.

These Facebook-style reactions will let you reply to messages without having to type anything – using predefined emojis.

We’ve already seen experimental updates to Message React on iOS and Android, but now they’re also coming to WhatsApp Desktop beta.

The update allows users to see who has responded to incoming and outgoing messages.

Of course, WhatsApp is still testing the feature, so it’s unclear when or even if it will roll out to the public.

It is expected to behave like Facebookallows you to react to each message.

A previous tweet from WABetaInfo showed reactions including “like”, “heart loves”, “cry with laughter”, “shock”, “tears” and “pray” or “high five”.

The upside is that you’ll probably text less.

Instead of having to type an answer, you can simply react to something someone has said.

This could mean you’ll get more responses from hardcore naysayers who usually leave you to read.

How to download WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Click the “I Join” button and then click “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the app’s beta update.

Joining WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and storage is limited.
