WhatsApp reveals an early look at a NEW type of text being added to the app

WHATSAPP gave us another look at a new type of text coming to the app: polls.

The upcoming feature isn’t available to the general public just yet – but it’s been in development for a while.

WhatsApp is now testing the feature in the “beta test” version of the app for Android phones.

The change was uncovered by WhatsApp investigators WABetaInfowho dig in the app to reveal New properties.

We already have seen the function leaked multiple times via the iOS version of the apartment to the iPhone.

But it’s now popping up on Android too.

There is a secret WhatsApp button on your iPhone that unlocks hidden features

WhatsApp polls are a quick way to get your friends’ opinions in group chats.

“There are a few fields to fill out the question and its options,” WABetaInfo said.

“And it is possible to add up to 12 possible options.”

The feature seems to allow you to create polls for group chats.

This includes adding a question and up to 12 different answer choices.

WhatsApp’s new poll tool lets you see the responses, but it all stays in the group – including the results.

It could be a way for friends to make a decision on where to eat.

Or perhaps a company WhatsApp group could survey its employees about the state of the food in the office canteen.

You could even ask your family about rescuing a dog from a shelter — and if it’s right for you.

Or ask for a verdict on your new outfit. Brace yourself, you may not get the survey results you want.

So when can you send out surveys? It might take a while.

Some features take weeks, months, or even years to perfect.

“Unfortunately, a release date is unknown, so we don’t know when WhatsApp plans to release the feature,” WABetaInfo explained.

“But note that this is the first beta update where they are working on group polls on whatsapp beta for android.

“So don’t expect it soon.”

If you want the new WhatsApp features first, check out our guide below How to join the WhatsApp beta.

How to join WhatsApp Beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
