WhatsApp warns that voice memos are changing in THREE major ways

WHATSAPP makes some major changes to voice messages – including some handy notes-taking tricks.
The hugely popular feature is getting a number of changes in an upcoming update.
Whatsapp Voice notes were first introduced in 2013.
And it says users are now sending an average of 7 billion voice messages on WhatsApp every day.
“Voice messaging has made it quick and easy for people to have more expressive conversations,” WhatsApp said.
“Showing emotion or excitement through voice is more natural than text.

“And in many situations, voice messages are the preferred form of communication on WhatsApp.”
There are three major changes, which we’ll detail below.
Playback outside of chat
This really does what it says on the tin: you can play messages outside of a chat.
So if you’re listening to a voice message in a conversation, you can leave that chat and talk to someone else.
The voice memo continues to play in the background.
This is especially handy when a voice memo is quite long and you want to keep using WhatsApp without being tied to the same channel.
Pause/resume recording
Another long-requested feature is the ability to pause and resume recordings.
If you’ve ever recorded a long message, you may recall losing your train of thought.
Otherwise, you might get distracted and want to come back to your recording later.
Whatever the reason, it’s now possible to pause and resume recording when you’re ready.
draft preview
Draft preview is also another long-awaited feature.
It’s very simple: you can listen to voice messages before sending them.
This gives you an opportunity to see if you said something you’d rather not say, or to check if your audio quality is good enough.
And if you find the message isn’t right, you can just dismiss it.
What else…
There are three other changes you might like.
The first is waveform visualization.
This means the waveform of the voice memo appears on the recording, making it easier for you to ‘follow’ the message.
Second is the ability to remember playback.
So if you pause while listening to a message, you can come back to it later in the same place.
Finally, there is the ability to speed up the playback of voice messages, including those that have been forwarded.
You can select 1.5x or 2x playback options.
