What do the trainers say?
“If you were blown away by Connacht, this trip will be very, very different for us.
“But because we’re through to Europe and we have a little gap, you want to reward the players who got us through the Six Nations with another trip and see how they fare and gain experience, invest in the future and all the good stuff we’re very proud of.
“But for the South African media or broadcasters, yes, they might want the names of the stars.
“The way the system works, you can only get so much out of our players, and our players are our assets at the end of the day, aren’t they?”
“If you had said at the start of the competition, especially when we were on tour, that we were going to make the playoffs, I would have been very happy with that. So in that sense, some of the pressure is gone.
“But we’re also keen to make it into the Champions Cup and given the machinations of the competition, with the Wales Shield winner guaranteeing a place in the Champions Cup, I expect we’ll do one on instinct another win will need two games to come to be sure.”
