When the driver uses the phone at the wheel, does anyone notice?

I had to weigh the pros and cons of writing this piece this week. Why?

the main reason is that I’ve been working over the last few months to stop highlighting how people hold their phones in their hands while they’re driving. Boring.

Since then, I’ve seen plenty of sneaks where motorists scream into their phones when it’s precariously placed between jaws and shoulders.

But I’ve never seen anything like the woman driving through heavy traffic but at high speed in the driveway to Leopardstown Road in south Dublin this week.

She was talking on the phone held in her right hand near her face. She had almost buried her nose in it; I wonder how she can see the road ahead.

The passing driver was completely oblivious to whatever was going on around her.

Her other hand was not on the top half of the steering wheel.

And the second reason why I don’t like reporting this is because, no one seems to notice even the slightest bit. When the driver uses the phone at the wheel, does anyone notice?
