So if you can’t wait that long, see where you can escape to next month – and you definitely won’t need a coat.

February is usually cold in the UK and is often accompanied by heavy rain or even snow.

But blue skies and sunshine are only a flight away, with some temperatures reaching over 30 degrees Celsius – just make sure to check travel restrictions before visiting.

Caribbean – 30C

The Caribbean is hot year-round, but February is truly one of the best times of year to go.

Florida benefits from strong Atlantic currents that bring in warmer water from the tropics, which means it’s warm year-round.

Temperatures hit 23.1 degrees Celsius in February so it’s sure to be sunny.

It might be worth packing a brolly though, as the chance of rain increases in February, with an average total of 77mm for the whole month.

British Airways is offering round-trip flights from London to Orlando for £282.

Cape Town – 27.3C

The average temperature in Cape Town in February is 27.3 degrees Celsius – the hottest month of the year.

February is in Cape Town’s summer and has 10 hours of sunshine a day.

This is one of the driest months of the year and only 10mm of rain falls – a big contrast to the UK.

British Airways is offering flights from London to Cape Town from £397.

Cairo – 20.5C

The sunniest destination on the list is Cairo, less than a five-hour flight from London.

The capital of Egypt and located on the Nile, Cairo has a desert climate that causes daytime temperatures to warm to 20.5 degrees Celsius in February.

Rainfall in Cairo in February is very low, absolutely only 3mm for the whole month, so definitely not worth your packing.

Visitors can enjoy eight hours of sunshine each day.

British Airways is offering round-trip flights from London to Cairo from £303.

Cancun – 32.2C

Cancun is the hottest of all the holiday destinations on our list with a whopping 32.2C.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful beaches and luxury resorts of Cancun in Mexico under the scorching sun.

February has an average rainfall of 28mm – perfect for travelers who enjoy the dry heat.

However, there are only five hours of sunshine daily so you’ll have to make the most of them.

TUI is offering direct flights from Manchester to Cancun for £205.

New budget transatlantic airline JetBlue is offering flights to New York from £300.
